On Sunday, Trinity families, teachers, alumni, and dancers of varying levels across all locations came together at Durty Nellies in Palatine to celebrate the Ensemble program casts heading to Portugal and Germany this Summer.
"It was incredibly heartwarming to see how many Trinity families and alumni came out to support the 2019 international Ensemble casts at the Hooley! The hard work that went into this event from parents and volunteers is so appreciated. I am thrilled for these dancers to represent Trinity in Germany and Portugal and show that hard work pays off!"said Performance Manager, Julia Dorf, about the event.
It was a spectacular night of dancing, drinks, and food! Throughout the evening, volunteer Ensemble parents ran a multitude of fun activities and auction items to raise money for the trips. Trinity parents went home with exciting silent auction items including hotel packages for Pat Roche, Irish Fest, & Milwaukee Spring Feis, Cubs tickets, Trinity wear, and more! Men of Trinity Instructor and alum, Joe Smith, went home with four tickets to the Packers vs. Bears game and Steve Sedlacek will head to the Rolling Stones concert this week at Soldier Field! The night wrapped up with a 50/50 cash raffle, and not many desserts were left to pack up from the delicious bake sale, which included Agnes Howard's famous (and quickly disappearing!) Irish Soda bread. All proceeds will be used to offset the expenses of the Ensemble trips this summer! Thank you to everyone for contributing auction items, coming out to support, and of course, all who volunteered to help. Everyone had a blast, and we hope to do it all again next year!
IL Ensemble dancer, Molly Owens, who is headed to Germany this summer said, "Having not only the support of our own families, but the support of Trinity families with younger dancers was overwhelming and meant SO much to us! We love you all and will be sure to keep everyone updated on our travels this summer. On to Germany!! Cailyn Trant, added "We loved seeing all of the younger dancers and parents out in the audience supporting our upcoming trips. Thank you for being so supportive!!"
The entire evening was strung together with music by Dave Dunn, a few performances by our Ensemble dancers(see video at the top), and a special cameo with alumni Kate Kohut, Samara Perkinson, Olivia LaBarbera, Anna Gorman, Claire Scully, Micayla Shevlin, Sheila McCormick, and Maddie Shultz (see video below)! We also had another chance to honor our seniors, Erin Briggs, Makayla Quinn, Julia Swicionis, and Syndey Niewiedzial.
